In 2018, ten people moved from Colorado to Minnesota to plant Vertical Church.
From the beginning, our deepest desire and most desperate prayer could be boiled down to two words:
Him Here.
We never asked, “How can we get people to come to church?” but rather, “How can we get God to come to church again?”
Through unapologetic preaching, unceasing prayer, unafraid witness, and unashamed worship, Vertical Church was planted to be a place of earth-shattering, window-rattling, life-altering encounters with the manifest presence of God, and God has been faithful to give many such experiences.
Him Here.

VERTICAL CHURCH WAS FORMED WITH ONE PRIMARY GOAL:
Make church about GOD.
In 2021, God blessed Vertical Church with a building.
After meeting in homes, other church buildings, and Concordia University, Vertical Church was blessed with the opportunity to purchase a building in the heart of the Summit-University neighborhood in St. Paul.
In March of 2021, Vertical moved into 55 Victoria Street. Built in 1910, it’s been occupied by many people and organizations, but was originally built as a church.
We pray that this building would see many people of the Twin Cities come and go. We are a church that doesn’t plan to be the same body of people 30 years from now — we pray that God would send us out to other churches, cities, and nations, making disciples of Jesus Christ for years to come.

In all we do, our God-centered focus seeks to lift eyes and hearts “vertical,” and our historic emphasis seeks to remind the saints — and the city — that we are all part of something bigger than ourselves, something that will make our lives matter for generations to come, something Jesus promised:
“I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
MATTHEW 16:18
