It was June 1865. 18 people gathered in a room to hear a vision for a new ministry opportunity. Some of the names of those in the room were:
- John and Anne Stevenson
- George Stott
- James Joseph Meadows
- Jean Notman
- Stephen Paul Barchet
- George and Anne Crombie
They were gathered together by a man who had a passion to see the gospel go forth, and who had been praying for the last year that God would raise up 24 willing and skilled laborers to help him do a great, gospel work. The man’s name was Hudson Taylor. And those 18 people in the room became what would be called the China Inland Mission.
Today, in China there are possibly more Christ-followers than in America with estimates as high as 150 million Christians of whom almost all can trace their spiritual heritage back to the work that began with those 18 people.
We too have been praying that God would raise up willing and skilled laborers to help begin a great, gospel work.
Will your name be among those who were in the room when it all began?
Join us on March 11th!
